Research Profile

The research profile of the University of Education Weingarten results from questions of educational science research and its related basic and application-oriented questions, especially related to sustainable teaching and learning in schools and other educational institutions.
A key focus is on the concept of "lifelong learning", which is also reflected in the structure of the research centers. The centers combine expertise from different disciplines and thus place their research activities and their research profile on an interdisciplinary basis.

Main focus

The strategic orientation of research at our university was defined in the 2017 - 2021 structure and development plan. For the first time, an orientation towards thematic core areas was mentioned here: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Digital Media and Dealing with Heterogeneity. The Prorectorate for Research supports the implementation of these core areas.
